Stripe Atlas Alternative for Non-Residents (2026)

Delaware only, $500 all-in for year one, built for startups raising capital.

The verdict in three sentences

Stripe Atlas forms a Delaware company for a one-time $500, state fees and the first year of registered agent included, then $100/year: one of the clearest offers on the market. Its tooling is built for startups raising capital — documents drafted with Cooley, founder stock issuance, 83(b) filing, SAFEs handled from the dashboard. If your activity is services, freelancing or e-commerce with no investors, the real question is not "Atlas or Statecove" but "Delaware C-Corp or LLC", and that is where our French-speaking support takes over.

When Stripe Atlas is the better choice

On its own ground, Atlas is hard to beat. Choose it without hesitation if:

  • You are building a startup aiming at investors: Atlas is cut for that exact case, from the 83(b) to SAFEs.
  • You want Delaware and a C-Corp, with standard documents that funds recognise.
  • You want to start collecting fast: Atlas lets you open an account and accept card payments before the EIN arrives, with transfers capped at $100,000.
  • You want the lowest recurring cost in this comparison: $100/year for the registered agent.
Where we fit

When Statecove suits you better

Our support fits better if:

  • Your activity calls for no investors: an LLC, often in Wyoming, is generally simpler to maintain than a Delaware C-Corp.
  • You do not want to handle Delaware's annual obligations yourself: the annual report and franchise tax due 1 March for a C-Corp, the flat $400 annual tax due 1 June for an LLC.
  • You want your file handled in French, from choosing the state through to the official documents.
  • You want annual compliance taken care of, not merely documented.

How to read these prices

The $500 one-time fee covers the Delaware filing, state fees and the first year of registered agent, which then auto-renews at $100/year. Delaware's annual obligations stay on you and differ by structure: the annual report and franchise tax due 1 March for a C-Corp, a flat $400 annual tax due 1 June for an LLC, which files no annual report.

What it looks like over time

Over three years, Atlas comes to $700: $500 at formation with Delaware state fees and the first year of registered agent included, then $100/year. On top of that sit Delaware's annual obligations, which stay on you: the annual report and franchise tax due 1 March for a C-Corp, the flat $400 annual tax due 1 June for an LLC. At Statecove, budget €2,000 at formation then €450/year from year two, i.e. €2,900 over three years with annual report filing included and annual state fees on top. Atlas is objectively cheaper; it simply does not deliver the same service, nor in the same language.
